About Us

Goal

The goal of Mission Bindi is to reconnect Hindus to their Dharma.

The first and best way to start is by having the Bindi  (a prevalent symbol in Hinduism), retained.

Mission Bindi is working towards making sure the next-gen Hindus have strong roots, because your roots affect your values, and your values define who you are. Always remember where you came from, and pass on the baton.

Why

Hinduism is gradually eroding—the values, the lessons, and the stories are slowing out of regular Hindu conscience. Fast forward a few centuries from now, and there probably only be ‘namesake Hindus’ in the world. Hinduism is gradually fading from existence, and my Hindu friends are starting to forget where they came from. This apathy towards our culture is a bane for Hinduism—gradual erosion, and then vanquishment.

My goal is to retain Hinduism, but this goal is huge for me to handle. I am too young to give awareness of all the values, stories, and lessons of Hinduism to millions of Hindus around the world. Instead, I took one took aspect of Hinduism : BINDHI.

I am working to retain the Bindi, a symbol already in early erosion, among Hindu women. The Bindi will reconnect Hindu women to their religion, and continuously remind them of Hindu values, stories, and lessons. The next generation of Hindus—young girls and boys—will look up to the Bindi on their mothers/sisters, and potentially take that to the next level. This goal, still huge, will preserve Hinduism for generations and beyond. I will probably not be living to see how, but I know that the fate of Hinduism will change. But let me take this baby step. Help me take these baby steps.

Who

My name is Archita, and I am a fifteen year old highschooler living in the US. I am too small for a huge project like this, but I still want to do my part. I need support from all like minded people to preserve the Bindi and Hinduism.

I want this website to be a platform for people to share their experiences with the Bindi or Tilak. I want this website to be a platform for Hindus to understand the significance of bindi, a one point repository for bindi information, and for Hindus to share experiences with the Bindi. In the future, I am aiming to establish a World Bindi Day, where women and men share their experiences with the Bindi or Tilak.
